Andrew: What I find even more disturbing than the number of deportations is the decline in noncitizen enlistments and commissions in the military. I am sure that the numbers fluctuate from year to year and that there may not be enough data presented to accurately say that noncitizens aren’t joining the military anymore, but, in the backdrop of the current political climate in the U.S., I hope that noncitizen recruitments bounce back. The key to continued military success is maintaining diversity.
